Welcome to the official website of The Norwalk Professional Fire Fighters Association.

IAFF Local 830 represents over 130 line and staff personnel serving in such capacities as firefighters, fire officers, code enforcement personnel, fire investigators, apparatus maintenance technicians, and training officers.  Local 830 members staff 5 firehouses in the historic City of Norwalk Connecticut and provide services to our citizens including fire suppression, EMS, technical rescue, hazardous materials expertise as well as maritime fire protection. NFD Local 830 Responds to Rowayton House Fire

NFD Local 830 Firefighters were dispatched at 5:02pm on Wednesday, April 17th to assist the
the Rowayton Volunteer Fire Department at the scene of a house fire on Crest Rd in the Rowayton section of Norwalk.

Every day, 33 Norwalk Professional Firefighters and Fire Officers are on-duty to protect the City of Norwalk.

Our members are assigned to our 5 fire stations and work 24 hour shifts on-duty followed by 72 hours off-duty.

NFD Local 830 firefighters extinguished a house fire on Wednesday, March 6, 2024
at 4:15 PM. 
Engine 4, Engine 3, Engine 2 (RIT), Truck 1, Truck 2, Rescue 2 and Car 2 (Shift Commander) responded to 9 William St for a reported kitchen fire.

NFD Local 830 Firefighters responded to 9-11 Park Street at 00:45hrs on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024 for an apartment fire.

A kitchen fire was reported in the 68-unit heavily occupied four story apartment building. NFD responds to vehicle in Norwalk River

At 12:19hrs on February 8th, 2024 Norwalk Professional Firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle in the Norwalk River.

Responding on the original assignment was Engine Co. 2, Engine Co. 4, Truck Co. 2, Rescue Co. 2 and Car 2 (Shift Commander).
