Norwalk Firefighters respond to construction accident

13 Norwalk Professional Firefighters were dispatched on the technical rescue assignment to an address on Ravenwood Rd for a construction accident.
NFD companies arrived to find a male patient that had fallen into a hole at an excavation site after he was struck by a backhoe.
NFD Local 830 firefighters secured the site and quickly gained access to the patient. NFD members safely packaged and extricated the patient topside where he was transferred to awaiting Norwalk Hospital EMS personnel. The patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital for further treatment.
