| The City of Norwalk Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 3:48 am at #44 East Ave in the “Norwalk Green” section of the City on Tuesday, October 14th.
Engine Co. 4 arrived on scene of the 2 story wood frame residential structure already evacuated and reported smoke in the building.
Norwalk Professional Firefighters stretched an attack line inside the structure to the basement where fire was found in the back corner. The fire was quickly extinguished as ventilation and searches were also being conducted simultaneously. Both primary and secondary searches were negative with no fire extension.
Fire damage was contained to the basement with smoke damage throughout the structure. A total of 26 NFD Local 830 Firefighters responded along with Norwalk Hospital EMS and City of Norwalk Police.
A total of 2 people have been displaced by the fire. No injuries were reported to civilians or Firefighters. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Division. |
