| At 3:01pm on Friday, September 19th. The City of Norwalk Fire Department responded to a structure fire
at 520 Main Ave in the Broad River Fire Station’s first due response area.
Multiple NFD Companies were already responding to a Motor Vehicle Accident on the Main Avenue corridor, when Engine Co.1 diverted and encountered smoke and fire coming from the roof of an auto dealership. Another NFD company was dispatched to assist Norwalk Hospital EMS at the scene of the original motor vehicle accident as the full structural fire assignment was requested to fire scene.
Engine Co. 1 stretched an attack line to the roof and located a fire involving multiple solar panels. The fire extinguished by a 1st alarm assignment consisting of 26 Norwalk Professional Firefighters. No injuries were reported during this incident.
The Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Division is investigating the cause of the fire. |
