Busy 4th of July weekend for NFD

Norwalk Professional Firefighters remained busy during the July 4th holiday weekend on both land and on the water to ensure Norwalk residents and visitors enjoyed the weekend safely.

During the course of the weekend, NFD Local 830 firefighters responded to well over 100 calls for service which included multiple significant incidents and special events.

These incidents included a working fire on July 4th for box 2423 for a report of a fire at 22 South Street. NFD local 830 Firefighters arrived to find a well involved detached garage that had been converted into an apartment. The fire was quickly extinguished with a first alarm assignment. But, left significant damage to the garage and damage to the exposure dwelling. Two occupants have been displaced and the cause of the fire us currently under investigation by the NFD Fire Marshal’s Division.

Other incidents included two Mutual Aid responses to the Town of New Canaan, a vehicle fire, multiple motor vehicle accidents, multiple outside fires, multiple electrical emergencies, gas emergencies, medical response’s and incidents on the water for NFD MU238.

Your Norwalk Professional Firefighters also assisted at the Rowayton Civic Association Fireworks at Bayley Beach with NFD MU238 ensuring the safety of those on the water. Norwalk Local 830 firefighters also assisted with an Engine Company on Calf Pasture Beach and NFD MU238 on the water for the annual Norwalk Fireworks.
