| At 01:28hrs on Thursday, April 6th. Truck Co. 1 (Broad River) staffed with four Norwalk Professional Firefighters along with Car 3 (Assistant Chief) responded mutual aid to the Town of Wilton to assist the Wilton Firefighters Local 2233 at the scene of a house fire at 450 Danbury Road. Upon arrival, NFD Local 830 firefighters operated on scene with Wilton, Westport and New Canaan Professional Firefighters and Weston Volunteer Firefighters for approximately 2 hours before being released.
At the same time Truck Co. 1 was requested to the scene. Engine Co. 1 (Broad River), staffed with four Norwalk Professional Firefighters were requested to provide Stand-by coverage at the Wilton FD Headquarters. Engine Co. 1 stood- by at Wilton FD HQ for approximately 2 hours before returning to service.
Other in-service NFD Companies covered Station 1’s first due response district until they returned to the City.
