Fire Quickly Contained at Arbor Drive Multi-Family Home

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a reported fire at an occupied multifamily residence located on Arbor Drive at approximately 1:08 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026.

Upon arrival, firefighters found residents attempting to extinguish the fire with a garden hose while other occupants evacuated the building. The fire originated on an exterior porch and had extended up the vinyl siding into the soffit and roof structure.
Firefighters initiated an aggressive exterior and interior attack and quickly brought the fire under control, preventing further extension into the building. The fire was declared under control approximately 27 minutes after the department's arrival.

A total of 30 Norwalk Professional Firefighters responded on the first alarm assignment, including four engine companies, two ladder companies, one rescue company, and Shift Commander. Norwalk Hospital Paramedics and Darien EMS Post 53 responded to assist with civilian and firefighter rehabilitation operations. The American Red Cross provided assistance to four displaced occupants.

No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Norwalk Fire Marshal's Office
