| On January 2nd, at 10:36PM. Engine Co. 4 and Truck Co. 2 were dispatched to an Activated Fire Alarm at 83 East Ave in the “Norwalk Green” section of the City.
Upon arrival, NFD Local 830 firefighters discovered smoke in the 3 story mixed use building and upgraded the assignment to a First Alarm adding two more Engine Companies, an additional Truck Company, a Rescue Company, and Shift Commander. NFD Firefighters located and quickly extinguished a fire in a first floor physical therapy office
limiting fire damage to the room of origin and smoke damage to the first floor.
The fire was extinguished in 35 minutes by a 1st alarm assignment consisting of 3 Engine Companies, 2 Truck Companies, 1 Rescue Company, and the Shift Commander; totaling 26 Norwalk Professional Firefighters.
There were no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians. The Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Division is investigating the cause of the fire. |
